BLACK ANCHOR K9 IN NEW ENGLAND.
MILITARY EXPERIENCE.
A LOCAL GROWING TEAM.
Black Anchor K9 was founded by Navy Military Working Dog handler Eric West after a 19-year military career working with dogs in demanding, high-stakes environments. What began in San Antonio has grown into a family-run training company serving clients in both Texas and New England.

Our New England team brings experience in obedience, behavior modification, confidence building, positive reinforcement, balanced training, and service-dog development. Together, that range of experience allows us to work with dogs at very different stages—from puppies learning household skills to dogs struggling with fear, reactivity, aggression, or other complex behaviors.

Black Anchor K9 now serves families throughout Southern New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts while maintaining the same priorities the company was built on: clear communication, thoughtful training, honest recommendations, and owners who understand how to continue the work.
NEW ENGLAND DOG TRAINING PROGRAMS
TRAINING FOR THE GOALS THAT MATTER AT HOME
We don't sell one-size-fits-all packages. Tell us about your dog and what you want to achieve, and we'll recommend the program that gets you there. Program length is based on results, not the calendar, so your dog is never rushed through the last week just because time is up.

BOARD & TRAIN
Your dog lives with one of our trainers and trains every single day, weekends included, in real homes and real-world settings.
Programs range from puppy foundations to advanced obedience and behavior modification, and every one ends with hands-on owner coaching so the results carry over at home.

PUPPY TRAINING
For puppies in their first 12 months. Build manners, confidence, and household structure early, before bad habits set in. Available as a puppy board & train or private lessons, with AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy testing available.

BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION
For dogs struggling with reactivity, fear, or aggression. We start by learning your dog's history, triggers, and home life, and aggression cases may require a consultation first. From there we build a plan focused on real change, not a band-aid. Board & train is usually recommended, with private lessons for the right fit.
FLEXIBLE PAYMENT OPTIONS
Pay in full or explore available financing through PayPal, Affirm, or the All Pet Card. Financing is subject to approval and provider terms.
WHAT TO EXPECT
FROM APPLICATION TO YOUR FIRST SESSION
Your application gives us the information needed to recommend the right program—not simply the most expensive one. We consider your dog’s age, training history, behavioral concerns, household, and the amount of owner involvement needed.
AFTER YOU APPLY
A member of our team will contact you to discuss your dog and clarify anything in the application. Dogs with significant reactivity, aggression, anxiety, or bite histories may require a consultation or evaluation before enrollment.
IF YOU CHOOSE PRIVATE TRAINING
Your trainer will contact you to schedule your first lesson and begin building a plan around the behaviors and environments that matter to your household.
IF YOU CHOOSE BOARD & TRAIN
We’ll confirm your dog’s training dates, preparation requirements, payment, and agreement. During the program, you’ll receive progress updates and participate in owner lessons so you understand how to continue the training after your dog returns home.
